Rome Total War Keeps Crashing

-I don't know whyt but I Installed Rome Total realism and everything seems fine. I start the game and all is well but all I'm allowed to do is to go though a set up stage. For Example in custom battle I can build the armies but when I click on start the fight, the game crashes to my desktop.
-When I try a historical battle the same happens when I click on start battle, and on the campaign I can only select at the begining set up the faction I want to use, and then after that when I click on begin Campaign the game crashes.
-Does anybody know what might be going on.
-I have Rome Total War Gold Edition with version 1.5 and I installed the Rome Total Realism Platinum edition V1.9.
-Any help would be appreciated on what might be causing this problem.
-I've gone through over 7 attempts now for the past 2 days to try to see if I can fix the problem but its of no use. My last attempt where I though everything would finally go well as I 1st Install RTW, then BI, then RTR, but it still crashed. I was so frustrated I just left the computer and when for an hour run. I'm so frustrated that I feel like taking taking the disks and lasing it on my running shoes then go out on a run with it.
----Could somebody please help on how I could fiz it or where I can find a detailed installation of the Mod.

Try calming down first, being frustrated is not going to help you solve any problem.
When I first start a new campaign or battle with a new version of RTR, it will take while for the campaign or battle to load. You seem to be experiencing a worse version of this.
The first thing to try is re-installing RTR, possibly on a copy of RTW. Maybe the installer is corrupted, try re-downloading it or get a different version, for example the -mod:switch version if you are using the standard version or vice versa.
RTR uses a bigger map, more towns and larger starting armies for the rebels than RTW, so try using a lower unit size. Turning down other video options might also help.

Thanks, I think I've figured out what the problem was but I haven't had time to reinstall to check it. I have RTW Gold edition with 3 disks and 1 BI disk. I followed the installation steps but I failed to patch BI to V1.6. I think this is whats messing up things, or at least I'm hoping that it is.
----A day later I went and patced it all up with BI V1.6, then installed RTR but it didn't make a difference. The computer still crashes after clicking start battle/campaign. Aww man, I'm running out of options and I really wanna play RTR.
--------Wow, with all the sweat and pain it took me I finally figured the problem and corrected it and now the mod. works perfectly.
-I installed everything correctly and deleted my saves, but somehow a custom map save was left intact and that corrupted everything. I was scanning through the mod and saw the save, deleted it, and press start battle, and it began.
---Wow, this has been the highlight of my day after 3days with hours of downloading, installing, and removing files, but it now works. Hopefully the game would be worth it and I'm almost sure that it will.
